Where does someone with limb loss or limb difference look for a group to share information about activities and common interests and issues. Is there such a group?

What you are looking for is usually called a limb loss/limb difference support group. These groups are not limited to amputees, since there are people with congenital limb loss or limb difference. There are several in the Maryland area and one of these might be convenient for you to attend. Support groups often host speakers on a variety of topics, and of course provide a forum for group members to ask questions, share ideas and socialize!

Amputee Support Group Eastern Shore. This new group meets on the first Tuesday of the month 11:30am - 12:30pm. For more information call 443-225-7750.

Meeting location: University of Maryland Cambridge Hospital, 713 Cambridge Marketplace Blvd, Cambridge, MD 21613. 2nd floor conference room on the right as you get off the elevator.

Crossroads Amputee Support Group. This new group meets on the first Monday of the month, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Dove Point - Children’s Services Building. 1219 Mt Hermon Rd, Salisbury, MD 21804. Contact Gary Moore at 443-750-0827 or garrydmoore@gmail.com.

MedStar Good Samaritan Amputee Support Group. This group meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month, 1:30pm - 3:00pm. Contact Jennifer McDivitt, PT at 443-444-5304 or Jennifer.McDivitt@Medstar.net. This group also meets via Zoom. Email for a link and release form.
