Dawn's August 2021: August Amputee Coalition Conference Registration Information
Amputee Coalition’s 2021 National Conference is on! September 29- Oct 2, 2021
Hello August! Calling all brother and sister amputees - anyone with limb loss or limb difference - to the national conference, coming to all of you virtually again this year. I promise it will be an education packed event and having this virtually allows all to attend. Registration for the conference this year is $50.00. I have included a link to their site so you can click here and register Click here.
I attended last year amidst Covid-19 and it went great and was so fun engaging with so many people via their virtual platform. The event had some great vendors and although you were not able to be hands on, they did not disappoint.
This year there are so many great sponsors that will educate and deliver life-changing speeches I am sure to inspire all.
A great feature is the ability to watch recordings of all the great speakers you may have missed. I know I will be there and I hope to see you too so we can chat and swap stories of how we have attained our new normal!
It is fantastic that everyone voiced a comment how the ability to attend virtually last year changed last year their lives. Many cannot afford airfare and hotel costs. I feel this platform is going to be here to stay, maybe in a hybrid form in the future but today we can cheer as we watch from the comfort of our homes. There is a wealth of information on the Amputee Coalition’s website about the event - click here.
So amputees everywhere celebrate together with the unique community we are!
I will be writing an update in our community event page here on our website post conference to give everyone an update and links to all the great information the conference had to offer.
"I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live." – George Bernard Shaw
These tips are informed suggestions. If you do not feel comfortable with them, please do not attempt them. Instead as always contact your medical professional or your prosthetist for help and advice.
If you have a question for me about living as an amputee, ask! And if I don’t know the answer, I will find it for you, and I will leave no stone unturned to help you find your own personal new normal. If there is a topic you would like me to feature please let me know! I want us all to grow strong together. Email me at Dawn@dankmeyer.com.
