Congratulations, Becky Snell!
Dankmeyer is excited to announce that Rebecca (Becky) Snell has assumed the new position of Chief Strategy Officer! In addition to her ongoing responsibilities as IT and Marketing Director, Becky will be responsible for focus on new strategic initiatives at Dankmeyer, and the implementation of strategy into operations.
Becky first worked with Dankmeyer over thirty years ago as a consultant to design and develop patient medical records software for Dankmeyer. She came on board full time to further develop that software and implement new IT infrastructure. A long-time telecommuter, she continued to implement software until ten years ago when Dankmeyer became a client of a third-party patient medical records provider. At that time, she completed another overhaul of the IT system. She continued her role as IT Director and assumed responsibility for Marketing, which included - designing and implementing the first Dankmeyer website and eventually taking over the monthly creation of the Dankmeyer Digest newsletter.
During this time Becky continued to use her project management skills to guide a number of projects at Dankmeyer, and along with colleagues from other practices, began a study of Toyota Production Systems and Lean Six Sigma concepts. She has used her IT and business expertise to present at multiple state meetings and presented papers at AOPA annual national assemblies in five of the last seven years on various topics, including cyber security and awareness, performance metrics, marketing, and Six Sigma. At the 2021 AOPA Assembly, she was recipient of the Sam E. Hamontree Business Education Award for her presentation “Adverse Outcomes Audit: Using Simplified Six Sigma Techniques as a Loss Control Measure”. In 2022, she presented at the AAOP meeting for the first time on “The Practioner’s Role in Cyber Wellness". She has also been a frequent contributor to articles in the O&P Almanac. Becky also serves on the OPAF board as Secretary/Treasurer.
She married into a family with a long history in O&P, but Dankmeyer was her first direct involvement. It didn't take long to turn into a lifelong passion, and her most meaningful times are when she has worked with Dankmeyer clients to share their stories on the Dankmeyer website (click here to read Patient Stories.) While she does spend a lot of time at her desk focused on Dankmeyer’s work in O&P, she also spends a great deal of time outdoors after hours. She is an avid hiker, a marathoner, and loves to work with her German Shepherd Dogs. She is also looking forward to resuming travels with her family, exploring new locations, foods and cultures.
