Dankmeyer Welcomes New Prosthetics Orthotics Resident Danny Weiser!
Please join the Dankmeyer team in welcoming our new Prosthetics and Orthotics Resident, Danny Weiser. Originally from Northeast Philadelphia, Danny Weiser moved to the Baltimore area at age 15 for high school and never left. Danny went on to complete a bachelor’s degree at Towson University, majoring in exercise science, with the plan to go on to graduate school for physical therapy. While shadowing on the Neuro-Rehab unit at Sinai Hospital Danny was exposed to the creative and dynamic world of prosthetics and orthotics, forever changing his course. Danny completed his master’s in prosthetics and orthotics at Northwestern University in Chicago.
From a young age, Danny has been interested in helping others find the magic and positivity in life. Since the age of 6, Danny has been a student of magic and has managed to perfect his craft through reading, learning, and performing magic in front of thousands of audiences. While pursuing his bachelor’s degree, Danny stopped performing magic in order to focus on his studies. However, instead of severing his ties with magic all together, Danny managed to channel his creativity and began engineering, developing, and creating magic apparatus for professional magicians. During that time, Danny self-taught many methods of the engineering and manufacturing process, such as making molds, pouring plastics, laser cutting, 3D design, and 3D printing. Danny has developed many relationships with companies throughout the world in order to mass manufacture these products.
Since completing his master’s, Danny has aspired to find ways to assist others in achieving goals that they feel are unattainable. Becoming a prosthetist orthotist allows him to combine this desire with his creative and manufacturing background to help others reach their goals. Danny would like to aid in the advancement of the prosthetics and orthotics field through both exploration and the improvement of real-world methods.
